Saying Goodbye

Wednesday we went to California to visit my sis and her family and to say goodbye. I hate goodbyes especially when it comes to my only sister. We had a blast with the kids. My sis totally spoiled us making us fresh homemade meals, home made ice cream, chocolate cake, home made orange juice mmmmmmmmmmm. everything was delicious!!!! We played games, went to the park and it was funny to see me and my sis act like we were 5 again I love it :). My niece works for the movie theater and took us to see Iron man 2 for free hahaha it was so cute. It was supposed to be a girl date and Dallin came along so it was just the 3 of us. Blake had lotssssssss of fun with his cousins he didn't want to come home. I love spending time with them and just being with the family. On the way home we encountered some difficulties with standby flying. Um we tried to get on the 10 flight and it was oversold. So we were at the airport from 9 am-4:25 pm. 7.5 hours with Blake at the airport wasn't too fun. Thank goodness for airplanes, he was entertained with that. He got overtired and finally we made him a bed out of clothes and laid his blanket on top of it and he had the longest nap of his life. 3.5 hours. I was like thank you!!!!!!!!!!! I have never felt so homeless hahaha but it was quite the adventure. It's days like these we will always remember!!!!!

Our Philly Home!

After talking to lotsssssssss of students, real state agents, searching the Internet like crazy. We have found a place in Philly. The decision is unanimous thank goodness. We are living in Colonial Village. They have a good mix of both students and regular families living in their units. So we will get to interact with both worlds. We have heard that it is a safe neighborhood and the wives even go running at 6:00 am. No body has had any problems so far. So that made me feel safe and happy. Everything is sooooooo expensive out there and I don't even know why. Everything is sooooooooo old, nothing like here. We are excited to have finally found a place. Visitors are sooooooooo welcome please come see us when we are out there. We will totally take you out to see some historical sites, we will feed you, and entertain ya :). Come to the city of Brotherly love!!

My Oath Ceremony

Today I finally became a citizen. It was a really good day. The Oath was scheduled at 1 and when we got there we were told that it would start at 2. I felt really bad because some of the family had come from work. It was so touching to see the family there supporting me. They were told there were no seats and that they had to go to a room and watch the ceremony on a monitor. I about died. I felt so baaaaaaaaaad. But in the end they opened up seats and they were all able to get in! the ceremony lasted about an hour. There were some speakers, an awesome girl sang the national anthem, we said the pledge of allegiance, took the oath and got our certificate. They played a video message from President Obama welcoming us as new citizens. It was a really good experience. There were 172 people taking the oath only 3 venezuelans. Of course I was one of them. I'm so happy!!!!!!!!!! one more goal accomplished it feels really good....yay!!!!

Me and a ton of others taking the Oath
