My birth story is quite an interesting one and I have never taken the time to write it down so I have decided to share it with the world. My parents thought something was very wrong when my mother at age 37 found out she was pregnant with me. My dad had been fixed (vasectomy) that's right fixed and my Mother had been told that she could not have anymore children. They asked themselves what happened? My dad went to see his surgeon and was told that a vasectomy is not 100% effective. My dad had doubts about me being his baby which I find kinda funny NOW. They went on with their lives and decided to go forward with the pregnancy. My mom's pregnancy was really hard she had a lot of problems with her uterus; she was bleeding a ton and she was told that she wouldn't be able to carry me the full term. The doctors told her that I should be taken out early at only 3 months. My Mother was devastated and she asked the Maracaibo Mission president along with 4 missionaries to come and give her a blessing. During the blessing the mission president said the following words: YOU WILL CARRY YOUR BABY THROUGH FULL TERM, THE BABY WILL DEVELOP NORMALLY AND WILL BE BORN. As the Mission President said those words tears fell down his cheek and at that moment my mom knew with no doubt that I would be OK and so would she. My mom was a fighter and told my Dad nobody will touch my baby! Nobody will take my baby out of me early! I will die for my baby if I need to. The doctors tried to convince my mom numerous times that they needed to take me out or she could die. They also said if she wanted to go through with the pregnancy I probably wouldn't be normal and might have serious problems. My mom did not give up. For 7 months my mom laid in bed. She could not move, she became sick and it was painful but the time came to deliver me through a scheduled c-section for January 31 1984. The doctors were able to take me out safely and my mom was completely out but something went very wrong while they were rapping things up my mom's heart stopped beating and she wasn't breathing. For the doctors my mom was dead as they had fear. They used a defibrillator that sends electric shocks to the heart muscle to make it start beating again. My mom claims during that time she briefly went to a beautiful place and was told by a beautiful man that it wasn't her time yet and was sent back home with a smile. The doctors were able to bring my Mother back. After a few minutes of sadness and fear I was handed to my Father who I greeted with a smile (according to him) like saying I am here Dad I made it and by the way I am your baby. I owe my life first to a Heavenly Father who loves me and sent me to warm up the heart of my beautiful mother. She was told that she couldn't have any more children. She had had miscarriages and she had run out of hope. But she knew better in her heart. There is always light at the end of the tunnel. I also owe my life to the power of the priesthood thanks to a faithful servant of God my Mom received personal revelation and was able to fight until the end. And of course to my wonderful Mother who I love with all my heart. As for my Dad he claims as soon as I smiled at him tears filled his face and he knew I was his baby. (thank goodness)
