My Earssssssssss!

Well I've been wanting to write about my horrible ear problems I'm having and I just haven't gotten down to it....but here it goes!!!!!!! Since I got back from Lake Powell I've been experiencing a lot of ear problems...It all started when I was so determined to water ski and continually fell in the water on the same side and was dragged in the water a couple of times...well I get back home I'm as dizzy as I can be and start hearing this awful noise in my ears...I don't really know how to describe it. It starts like a slow heart beat and it ends up sounding like I have a helicopter flying inside my ear...super fast and LOUDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!! it over powers any noise out there and it is worst at night of course when everything is quiet and I CAN'T SLEEEEEEEEEEEEP :(...well I finally decided to go see AN ENT dr. next door to my work. He ordered a hearing test and guess what? I'm totally deaf on the opposite ear that I've been having problems with. He stated that it was probably from all the water and it should go away within a couple of weeks...heck noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo it never did and it still hasn't. I finally went back for a FOLLOW UP and I told him this is driving me NUTSSSSSSS. I can't stand it please help me I'm going to really loose my mind. I've always been healthy and have never had health problems. He looked at me like this girl is absolutely crazy and his Medical Assistant that knows me says: don't worry that's just how she is and she is just having a melt down and she laughssssssssss...He decides to order a Balance test to find out what's causing the dizziness and help him explain to me why in the world I have sudden hearing loss on the opposite earrrrrrr...sure enough I am totally out of balance no wonder why I acted that way in his office hahaha...Again bad balance on my left ear when my ringing is in the right EAR...at this point he is really concern he kept saying this is not making any sense to me why is the ringing in the opposite ear. So he decides to order an MRI of my inner ear..It was totally NORMALLLLLLLL. I was like ok so what the heck is wrong with meeee???? He repeats the hearing test and the result was the same. Pretty much DEAF in the left ear...he said that the Audiologist wrote on her report that she found some loose crystals in my ear and he thinks it was because of repetitive fall in the water and that's where my imbalance is coming from..My brain learned to not trust my system because I fell soooooo many times. My brain is saying like is she going to fall again so it will take some time to be back to normal...Any ways now He referred me to a brain/ear specialist at the U who I'm going to see at the end of this month and hope that he can get rid of this horrible ringing and help me out. It hasn't gotten any better its actually worse and louderrrrrrrrrr......If any body has any suggestions, ideas, knows drs. or anything that can help me out please let me know....Sorry for making my story so longgggggggg...but this is the only way that I can relax and let it all out...peace out!

  1. oh my goodness.. that is awful. I can't even imagine. I'm so sorry. I hope it gets better soon. Paul knows a guy who is an ENT but if you have already been to one then I don't know how much this guys can do either. I will find out his name for you though. Hey Paul is thinking about being an ENT so if you still have the same problem in 10 yrs paul will heal you!
