California

Well we thought this was going to be such a smooth trip when we got to the Salt lake airport and a sister missionary was kind enough to switch seats with us so we could all sit together. Let me tell ya standby travel during the busiest time of the year is not such a good idea and we for sure learned our lesson. Sometimes you just have to drive or else have your sis not go on vacation during this time :0)
We made it to Cali with no complications. Some of the highlights of our trip included the 70 degree weather, a delicious fatty dinner at IN N OUT, watching my nephew play soccer, playing video games, watching movies, spending time together, and lots of trips to WALMART! hahahahaha. Well we had a good time. they have a dog and Blake calls it Lion you will see why. We enjoyed visiting with them I got so attached to them that when it was time to go home I started crying. This is where the story gets interesting. When it was time to go home we start checking the flights oh boy everything was in the negatives like from anywhere in the country. We tried every California airport, other routes that would end up in Utah. NADAAAAAAAAA. Ok stress sets in because if Delta knows that Dallin is flying and he doesn't make it to his Shift his job could be jeopardized. To add to the stress all the flights to SLC are oversold and even the paying passengers were left behind because of weight reasons. I mean are you serious. So all those people that were trying to get home were bumped from flight to flight and where does that leave us? in Cali. Finally, Tuesday night we decided to rent a car after realizing we are not going to make it home. We ended up driving home on Wednesday. Yay road trip!!! Guess who decided to get diarrhea in the middle of the trip? Yep Blake Ashton. Lovely we had to make a few stops. When we get to past Mesquite a storm hits and our window wiper fluids decided not to work. Dall had to stop many times pour water from a bottle and drive home in the dark. Well the miracle of it all is that Blake LOVED IT! he would do it all over again. He didn't cry once, didn't complaint, nothing. He took a 1 hour nap and he was good to go. Looking out the window and enjoying the ride. Wowwwwwwwwww what a blessing. Dall made it in time for work and we are all home in time for the holidays. Merry Christmas everyone from our Family to yours!
