Back Surgery?
About a month ago my husband came back from work unable to move, walk, sit or lay down. It was really scary to see him like that because as you know he is a very active guy. I told him to go see the doc to see what's going on. The Dr. ordered an MRI of his lower back and sent him home with some pain killers. He was instructed to put ice on his back and rest. No work for the next 4-8 weeks. After having the MRI done they discover a disc herniation and a cyst on his back. I felt so sad for him its like good news, bad news. He went to see his dr. again for his follow up visit and his doctor told him to see a surgeon. He told him that they could do injections that would only alleviate the pain but would not get rid of the herniation or cyst. He recommended him to see Dr. Hood to get his opinion and decide what's best for him. He also reminded us that if we are planning to move to Philly it might be better to get the surgery done here while workers comp will cover all the costs. I see it as a blessing in disguise I'm glad that is happening now while we are here and not during dental school. Now the next step will be to decide if surgery is the best option or learn to live and deal with the pain for the rest of his life. We will keep you posted.

Best wishes to you both! That is a tough decision, but it is wonderful that you are still recognizing blessings too.
